Cyclic loading tests on structural steel under large inelastic strains till ±10%

Cyclic loading tests on structural structural steel were conducted under large inelastic strains. The gauge length-to-diameter ratio of 1.13 was used to avoid the specimen buckling suffering repeated compressive load. Different loading protocols, such as increasing increment, decreasing increment, alternate increment and random increment of strain amplitudes, were adopted with maximum strain amplitude up to ±10%.
