Parameter calibration tests for micromechanics-based ductile fracture criteria of Q345 steel

Uniaxial tensile tests of round bar specimens made of Q345 base metal, deposit metal and heat affected zone were conducted to provide stress-strain data, elastic modulus, strength and ductility which were needed in model calibrations. Tensile tests of circumferentially smooth-notched bar specimens made of the three materials were carried out to calibrate the parameters of the micromechanical fracture criteria under monotonic loading. Cyclic tests of circumferentially smooth-notched bar specimens made of the three materials were done for calibrating the parameters of the micromechanical fracture criteria under cyclic loading. Fracture surfaces of smooth notched tensile test specimens were scanned to calibrate the characteristic lengths of the three materials.
