Monotonic vertical loading tests on H beam-to-CHS column assembly under structural progressive collapse scenario till large deformation

To investigate the performance of a steel beam-to-column connection under structural progressive collapse scenario, a monotonic loading test was conducted on a steel beam-to-column assembly until it lost its vertical capacity completely in large deformation. In the beam-to-column assembly, two H-shaped beams and a circular hollow column was connected by the out-diaphragms, which were welded to the beam ends. Two ends of the assembly were fixed hinge supported to allow the horizontal tie force to develop, and the bottom of the middle column was restrained by a vertical sliding support to simulate that a middle column is removed.
